The QA Analyst is responsible for quality assurance of the applications. Its main role is to design, write, implement and run various tests (unit, functional, automated) that will help validate the quality and proper functioning of a program. The QA Analyst works with developers and use bug tracking tools to track and document the solutions found.

The QA Analyst is often a former developer. He must understand the software development life cycle, be able to write scripts and be able to revise the code of other developers to identify bugs. The QA Analyst must have good analytical skills. He must also be organized, meticulous, rigorous, and be able to write documentation. The QA Analyst must also demonstrate a creative mind. He must have a good knowledge of the bugs management tools and be curious and interested in new technologies realted to its field in order to maintain its technical expertise. Most development teams now evolving into a collaborative framework (Agile methodology), the QA Analyst must also demonstrate a sense of listening and effective communication, with a strong teamwork spirit.
